A New Mid-Mount Turbo Kit Targets 600+ WHP on the 370Z and G37
Bull Boost Performance's patent-pending kit is built specifically for manual-transmission VQ37VHR cars.
Bull Boost Performance, under its STRATEC brand, has announced a patent-pending mid-mount single-turbo kit for the Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37, built specifically around manual-transmission VQ37VHR cars — a chassis and drivetrain combination the aftermarket has historically underserved compared with automatic-equipped cars.
The system uses a twin-scroll T4 turbocharger paired with an equal-length exhaust manifold, and is rated for 600-plus horsepower at the wheels. A mid-mount layout, rather than the more common front-mount turbo placement, is intended to shorten the exhaust path from the manifold to the turbo and keep plumbing tighter within the engine bay.
The kit is scheduled for release on August 1. For a platform whose aftermarket has leaned heavily on bolt-on power adders rather than full forced-induction systems, a purpose-built mid-mount turbo kit — manual-specific, patent-pending, and squarely aimed at a 600-whp target — is a meaningfully bigger swing than most of what's shown up for the VQ37VHR before it.
